Dan Boden, DMD, serves as Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Boden brings nearly three decades of experience in clinical dentistry, dental education, and competency assessment. Prior to joining ECU, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Care Coordinator at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine–Arizona and was the inaugural Program Director of the General Practice Residency Program at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He also maintained a successful private practice for ten years.

Dr. Boden earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed a General Practice Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. His clinical and research interests focus on digital dentistry, particularly digital dentures and advancements in clinical education.

A recognized leader in dental education, Dr. Boden is a recipient of the Midwestern University Faculty Member of the Year Award and is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and the International College of Dentists. He serves as a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and as an examiner and consultant for the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX). Through his work in dental education, faculty development, and licensure assessment, Dr. Boden is committed to helping educators prepare students for clinical competency, licensure success, and professional practice.
